BCFIRB directed the Milk Board to justify LIFO and 10/10/10 quota allocation policies using SAFETI principles, address underproduction, compare with Ontario’s non-transferable quota model, and ensure transparent, principled decision-making.

Letter: BCFIRB to BCMMB — Quota management and governance update
This letter follows BCFIRB’s April 5, 2011, letter (which requested more analysis on the BCMMB’s FIFO proposal) and a May 19, 2011, response from the BCMMB. BCFIRB is now formally introducing its new principles-based regulatory framework, which it expects the BCMMB to apply to the FIFO issue.
